Hugo's Restaurant Agoura Hills Has Closed Its Doors After Seven Years in Business

Hugo’s Restaurant Agoura Hills has closed its doors. Here’s the announcement on their Facebook page today:

After more than 7 years in Agoura Hills, we have served our last meal at that location. The calamity of the ongoing, record-setting wildfires has made our closing the restaurant necessary. We are so grateful to our co-workers, family & friends who have made the experience of running this restaurant unforgettable.

While closing is sad, we still have two locations in Studio City and West Hollywood to enjoy our from-scratch meals.

To everyone who had become part of the Hugo’s family in Agoura Hills - -we thank you for sharing your hearts with us. We look forward to serving you again soon!

We’re sorry to see Hugo’s go. Hugo’s opened on September 26, 2011 in the Whizin Market Square.

Julie's Alps in Newbury Park Announces It Is Going on Hiatus

Julie’s Alps announced today that it “is going on hiatus for a little while” today on its website and Facebook page. At this point it is not known what eatery will be operating at this spot at 2160A Newbury Road in Newbury Park but stay tuned.

Prior to Julie’s Alps taking over earlier this year, it was Jeanette’s Edelweiss (opened in March 2015), Brats Brothers (opened December 2012, closed February 2014) and Lamppost Pizza (closed in December 2011).

Announcement from owner of Julie’s Alps:

“On behalf of all of us at Julie's Alps we want to thank you all for allowing us to serve you for this last year, and especially through this recent very exciting Oktoberfest season.

Julie's Alps is going on hiatus for a little while. We treasure our growing relationships with all of you. We expect to possibly be moving locations and we will certainly update you with those changes.

If the location that we have been serving you from, continues to sell German food, it will not be us, unless we notify you as such, and you speak to me personally. If it's not us, we can't guarantee what you are gonna get in there.

We will be closed starting today until further notice and that notice must come from me personally. Feel free to message me or call me for verification.

We plan on having some events in other locations especially for our devoted customers throughout the coming months.

Thank you again for all of your support and wonderful reviews.”

Rokabab Mediterranean Grill in Thousand Oaks Appears to be Closed

RokababFront.jpg

Rokabab Mediterranean Grill originally opened in the Northstar Plaza at 1321 E. Thousand Oaks Boulevard, Thousand Oaks in June 2015. We noticed yesterday that no one answers the phone. So we checked Yelp. Yelp indicates Rokabab is closed.

But there was a comment from the owner in May that the eatery was temporarily closed due to construction. And their website is up and running and looks good.

Their last Facebook page update was August 13th and indicated “Yum, fresh is back.”

So, I had to stop by to confirm with my own eyes if Rokabab is indeed closed.

Apparently it is. Or perhaps they are just taking a break.
