Set in New York in the early 1960s, Neil Simon’s Barefoot in the Park is a romantic comedy focusing on newlyweds, Paul and Corie Bratter as they begin married life in a tiny fifth floor (six if you count the stoop!) walk-up brownstone. Paul is a straight-laced attorney and Corie’s a free spirit always looking for the next adventure. They contend with a lack of heat, a hole in the skylight, MANY exhausting flights of stairs, wacky neighbors — including their “neighbor in the attic” Victor Velasco, Corie’s well-meaning and over protective mother, as well as, their own personal struggles as they approach life’s challenges as a married couple.
