The New West Symphony’s first outdoor summer concert! Experience James Cameron’s Oscar-winning classic film, Titanic, screened at William Rolland Stadium at California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks with a live 130-member New West Symphony orchestra and chorus in tribute to the late score composer, James Horner. Event to take place on Saturday, June 22nd at 7:30pm. Run time is 3 hours, 20 minutes.
From the time of its release, Titanic (1997) became one of the most popular movies of all time, staying No. 1 at the U.S. box office for a record 15 consecutive weeks, grossing over $2 billion, and winning — as one of only three movies in history — 11 Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Score by the late James Horner, and Best Song “My Heart Will Go On,” co-written by Will Jennings and Horner. The blockbuster film, which runs three hours and 20 minutes plus intermission, will be shown on a very large LED screen specifically built for this one of a kind experience. Pre-concert amenities including gourmet food trucks, beer garden, availability of picnic tables to dine alfresco outside the stadium, and an art exhibit in the gallery.
