Ventura County Area Daily Deals, Coupons and Other Bargain Hunting Websites

Groupon popularized the deal-a-day concept for daily discounted "coupons" or gift certificates good for deals at local retailers and service providers. Groupon launched in November 2008 and typical deals include spa treatments, classes, restaurants, massages, tanning salons, haircuts and the like typically offer 50% up to as much as 90% off retail price.

An entire industry has been spawned by Groupon and there are now hundreds of daily deal sites around the world. Locally here in the Conejo Valley and Greater Ventura County, ConejoDeals.com was the first site to launch a daily deal program, back in April 2010.

Deal-a-day sites can be addictive. Some people I know buy deals all the time, while others like to take a look every now and then. Generally you purchase a deal, pay, print the certificate and use it before it expires. Be aware that when you sign up with these sites, you'll be receiving daily emails. So be prepared for the inbox influx.

Below are websites that offer daily deals, anytime deals and/or good old fashioned coupons in the Ventura County area*:

ConejoDeals.com - Daily deals centered in the Conejo Valley and surrounding areas. $1 per deal goes to local charity of your choice.

Groupon Ventura County - Groupon started this VC daily deal site in October 2010.

SimiDeals.com - New site to be launched by owners of ConejoDeals.com.

TodaysNewDeal.com - Local daily deals site covering Conejo Valley and adjacent areas. Portion of each deal goes to local schools.

LivingSocial.com Ventura County - Second largest daily deal site worldwide came to the table in Ventura County in April 2011.

Bogopod.com - Has both everyday printable coupons and limited time vouchers that are usually available a day or two.

Restaurant.com - Offers an array of discount gift certificates at local restaurants. Worth checking out. Do be aware of minimum purchase requirements when you buy.

MOGL.com - Sign up and receive 10% cash back when you dine at local restaurants. Additionally, for each dollar members earn, MOGL puts 10 cents into a jackpot which then goes to the #1 customer at every restaurant every month!

DoubleTakeDeals.com - Offers a number of deals in the Ventura County area. Affiliated with Clipper Magazine, which provides coupons in the mail. For print on demand coupons, check out their CouponClipper.com. There's also a mobile coupon app at clippermagazine.com/iphone.

MoneyMailer.com - Offers printable coupons for hundreds of local businesses as well as a mobile app. Type in your zip code and look for coupons when you need them.

Spreebird.com (formerly ScreaminDailyDeals) - Daily deals in Conejo/Simi Valleys.

CrowdSavings.com (formerly DealDaddies) - Daily deals in Conejo Valley.

Cumulus Media Daily Deals - Owner of B95.1, 103.3, 97.5 and other stations hosts deals on this site.

YourBestDeals.com - Large variety of purchase anytime deals throughout Ventura County.

Juice in the City Ventura County - Deal a day in Ventura County.

Conejo Valley Corridor - Offers a discount card fundraising program that benefits local schools and non-profits while offering discounts at local area businesses.

Other daily deal sites without a Ventura County presence but with deals in the Los Angeles area include BuyWithMe.com, SocialBuy.com, HomeRun.com, CBS Local Offers, Tippr.com, KGBDeals.com. Others have come and gone. Google Offers and Facebook Deals have not shown a local presence yet.
