Thousand Oaks City Watch 7/31 - Recent Burglaries

Here is the latest "City Watch" alert from Deputy Jim DeSoto of the Thousand Oaks Police Department. If you are interested in receiving these updates directly from him via email, click here for more information.

Within the past week, there have been several residential burglaries along the Olsen Road corridor. Between 7-25-08 and 7-28-08, there were three burglaries on Calle Contento, all during daytime hours. All involved single-story homes where screens were removed from open windows to gain access.

Today there was one attempt on Calle De Oro, where screens were removed from a single story home, and another where the suspect kicked in a side garage door and was found inside the house when the homeowner returned. The suspect fled on foot and was picked up down the street by a woman driving a green or blue Ford Taurus sedan with tinted windows and a sticker on the rear window. There were two other stickers on the rear bumper.

The suspect was described as a heavyset Hispanic male with a shaved head approximately 6'0" and weighed approx. 270 lbs. He had tattoos visible on the upper chest and front of the neck.

The woman driving the Taurus was described as a heavyset Hispanic (no further description). Anyone with information about these suspects is asked to contact Detective Eric Buschow at (805)494-8226. If you see a vehicle or person matching the description, do not approach them. If possible, write down a license plate number and get a detailed description of the person/people involved. Notify Sheriff's Dispatch (654-9511) right away to have deputies contact the person(s).

Thanks,

Sr Deputy Dennis Sliva
