The first-ever film appearance of Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy together took place in the 1920 comic short short, The Lucky Dog.
Now how in the world and why are we posting a 17 minute video of the film here on Conejo Valley Guide?
Well first off, because it's really cool to see these two together in this appearance of a hapless "good guy" (Stan Laurel) and mean "bad guy" (Oliver Hardy) before they came together as the comedy duo Laurel and Hardy. Two of my comedy heroes.
But there's another linkage, kinda sorta, to the local community. Lucky's Dog House at Janss Marketplace in Thousand Oaks has served up hot dogs, burgers and other goodies since around 2010. The Lucky Dog was released on December 1, 1921, just about 94 years ago.
Speaking of dogs, all dogs that are rescued are lucky dogs in my book. Here's a compilation of places to rescue a pet in the Conejo Valley and Greater Ventura County.
