Teens Help Manna Hand Out Over 300 More Turkey Dinner Items to Needy Families

By Nancy Needham (nancy@conejovalleyguide.com)

The Conejo Valley's local Manna food bank has already given out 300 turkey dinners to the Conejo Valley's neediest families. Today they are ready to hand out about 300 more--10 every 15 minutes. The driveway at 3020 Crescent Way is going to practically be a drive-thru lane for those dropping off and picking up turkeys, stuffing mixes, canned cranberry sauce and other Thanksgiving dinner foods.

To prepare for this busy day, 23 high school students from Viewpoint School in Calabasas were given the day off their academic studies to do community service at the food bank. The teenagers were there bright and early to sort food already delivered to the food bank and bag it up so it could more easily be given out to feed families less fortunate.
