Dinosaurs and Butterflies at the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History this Summer

Take your kids to the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History now through mid-September for two great, interactive exhibits in addition to all the other great things to see and experience.

DinoMania! is an engaging display of a robotic, life-size T. rex and triceratops (see video footage below), interactive learning stations (including video games where you pretend to be a dinosaur) and the centerpiece, SAMSON. SAMSON is one of the most complete T. rex specimens ever recovered, including 170 fossilized bones, around 56% of the full skeleton.

We've been to the outstanding, permanent dinosaur exhibit at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County. This one is different as it is more geared towards kids with its highly interactive nature. My young boys were very engaged at the DinoMania! exhibit...in fact, it was hard pulling them away.

Equally awesome is the annual Butterflies Alive! ex

A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words...But Sometimes Can Be Deceiving

From looking at this picture of 19 month old Paxton Ferry of Camarillo, you'd never know that he was actually having a blast and giggling away down the slide at Arneill Ranch Park. But, according to his mommy, Margot, that's exactly what he was doing. Yes, a picture is worth a thousand words, but sometimes it doesn't tell the whole story. Great pic, Margot!

Need help planning what to pack for school, camp or picnics in the park? Margot's Facebook page, Little Lunches, will give you some great ideas.

MB2 High Performance Raceway Open For Business in Thousand Oaks!

NOTE FROM CONEJO JOE:  I'm ashamed to say that I have not made the time to stop by MB2 since it opened in September.  MB2 has been and continues to be, by far, the most popular, searched for topic on Conejo Valley Guide.  My neighbor down the street and his buddies love the thrill of this 14 lap race (just over 7 minutes, or roughly 32 seconds per lap).  It can be an expensive hobby but quite a bit of fun.  Maybe I'm afraid to try it because I'll become addicted to it!

HIGH PERFORMANCE RACING IN THE CITY OF THOUSAND OAKS; MB2 RACEWAY DELIVERS NEED FOR SPEED, NEW RACING COMPLEX NOW OPEN

MB2 Raceway, the unrivaled consumer racing corporation operating in the San Fernando Valley, opens new consumer racing complex in Thousand Oaks, located at 1475 Lawrence Drive.

The MB2 Raceway Corporation has transformed a 60,000 square foot industrial building, once home to Northrop, into an impressive, modern, environmentally conscious, high performance kart racing circuit and consumer entertainment venue.

The Thousand Oaks facility emulates MB2 Raceways popular flagship complex. "The Conejo Valley is a fabulous demographic for a new and exciting entertainment venue, we have been working diligently to bring our business model to the area for some time now" stated MB2 CEO, Will Miller. "We have a loyal local fan base that regularly commutes to our original facility. We are very happy to be servicing the market directly now, here in the heart of the Conejo region" Miller adds.

Complementing the consumer, "Arrive & Drive" racing, MB2 Raceway boasts a unique Corporate Events Center.

A wide variety of programs include employee team building, sales seminars, executive meetings, company trade shows and banquets. Private, birthday and holiday parties arealso a mainstay of the operations, having dedicated private event rooms within the complex ranging in size, from 1200 to 2400 square feet.

"We are excited to assimilate into the community" offers General Partner, Chris Brooks. "Our special racing programs for school, youth and non-profit organizations showcase our dedication and commitment to Conejo Valley residents". "We have been fortunate to partner with the Conejo & Triunfo YMCA's, Thousand Oaks Little League and Oaks Christian fundraising efforts. I look forward to expanding our foundation as a partner to the leading goodwill organizations of the community.
