Thousand Oaks Children's Library 10th Anniversary Celebration on June 25th

On June 25, 2016, the Thousand Oaks Children's Library will celebrate its 10th anniversary with a public event that will include a statue dedication, storytellers, children’s authors and illustrators, crafts and food trucks. Activities are free and food will be available to purchase.

The day begins at 10 a.m. with a statue dedication at the Children's Library entrance. The statue, which features two children reading, is a gift from Thousand Oaks Library Foundation member Toni Hagopian in honor of her late husband, filmmaker and Library supporter, Michael Hagopian. Mayor Joel Price and other dignitaries will attend the dedication.

Flights of Fantasy will follow with interactive folktales and fables at 11 a.m. in the Library’s Community Room. Through humor and laughter, their stories spring to life using creative costumes, props and audience participation.

From noon to 3 p.m., patrons will have the opportunity to purchase lunch from popular local food trucks, including The Grilled Cheese Truck. Children can also meet local children’s authors, listen to stories, watch book illustrators create new artwork and participate in other family-friendly activities.

The Thousand Oaks Children’s Library, a dedicated wing of the Grant R. Brimhall Library, is located at 1401 E. Janss Road, Thousand Oaks. For more information call (805) 449-2660 option 7.
