Free Summer Sunday Concerts at Calabasas Lake, June through August

Spend your summer Sundays with great live music at the 2012 Summer Sundays at Calabasas Lake free concert series!

The traditionally private Calabasas Lake opens its doors to concert goers, providing a scenic backdrop and ample field seating for picnickers. The public is encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and sweaters. Some fixed seating is available on a first come first served basis. All performances are free to the public. Simi Valley Cajun and Blues Music Festival, Memorial Day Weekend, May 26-27

Presented by the Rotary Club of Simi Sunrise in Simi Valley, the 23rd Annual Simi Valley Cajun and Blues Music Festival is held on Memorial Day Weekend, May 26-27, will feature Cajun, Creole and Zydeco music provided by bands from around the county. In addition, there will be authentic cajun and creole food available from a variety of food vendors. The stage and dance floor is the largest outside dance floor west of the Mississippi. Hours are 10:30 am to 8:00 pm both days. Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 5 to 12 yrs, Free under 5 yrs.  Rides and events in the kids area are no additional cost!

The festival also features a large kids area featuring a variety of climbing, sliding, bouncing contraptions, a crafts area and rotating demonstrations by performing artists and musicians.

Proceeds from the Festival are distributed to dozens of local charities and international projects, including funds to ship hundreds of wheelchairs to a variety of third world countries. Concerts on the Green at Valley Cultural Center in Woodland Hills - Jun 3 to Aug 26

The Valley Cultural Center presents its 37th Annual FREE Concerts on the Green, held at the beautiful Lou Bredlow Pavilion in Warner Park in Woodland Hills (5800 Topanga Canyon Blvd). There is plenty of room for a late afternoon picnic with the family while being entertained by headline performers. The concerts are generally held on Sunday afternoons, June 3rd through August 26th from 6 p.m to 8 p.m. (with some exceptions noted below).

4th Annual Tropical Daze Music Festival in Thousand Oaks on July 21-22

TROPICAL DAZE, a weekend long Summer Music Festival, will be held on Saturday and Sunday, July 21 & 22, 2012, from 11am to 6pm at Thousand Oaks Community Park, 2525 N. Moorpark Road (next to Thousand Oaks High School). Our “Tropical” theme will be showcased with delicious food and upbeat music such as Surf, Hawaiian, Caribbean, Jamaican, Reggae and more!

Bring your lawn chairs and relax as we entertain you with live bands, special shows, mouth-watering tropical foods, kids' rides, booths and displays! It’s a family affair and we’ll have plenty of fun activities for the kids...hoop dancing, inflatables, bounce houses, tropical bird display, games and crafts, special shows, fun zone, educational games, etc. The luau will also be back again this year on Saturday night!

Heritage Square 2012 Summer Concert Series on Friday Nights, June 15 to August 24

Celebrating 20 years, Oxnard's favorite summertime tradition has been the Friday Night Concerts at Heritage Square. Held for ten weeks, June 15th through August 24th from 6pm-8pm, the outdoor concerts are Oxnard's best place to hear live music.

The concerts offer entertainment to suit every musical preference - styles range from Reggae to Big Band and from Latin Jazz to Rock. Table seating is available by reservation at $40-$60 per table, with seating for six. General admission plaza seats are $5, and limited lawn seating is free. 2012 Aloha Beach Festival in Ventura on Saturday & Sunday, Sept 8th-9th

The 2012 Aloha Beach Festival is set for September 8th and 9th starting at 9 a.m. at Promenade Park/Surfer's Point, west of the Historic Ventura Pier.   The festival will feature freestyle frisbee and K9 frisbee competitions, surfing and outrigger canoe competitions and all day live music at the Aloha Stage.

Event will also feature the World Beach Invitational Frisbee® K9 freestyle disc Championships. The K9 event will be judged on presentation, execution, and overall performance. These routines are played to music and is sure to be the highlight of the Aloha Beach Festival. The World Beach K9 Championships will perform right in between each routine of the semi and final in open pairs for 3 minutes.

City of Agoura Hills 2012 Summer Concerts in the Park - June to August

The City of Agoura Hills Department of Community Services is proud to announce the lineup for the 2012 Summer Concerts in the Park series.

The lineup for this year’s concert series is as follows:

  • Sunday, June 17th  “Queen Nation: A Tribute to Queen”
  • Sunday, July 8th  “Platinum Groove” with fireworks show following concert at about 8:45 p.m
  • Sunday, July 22nd  “Wanted: A Tribute to Bon Jovi”
  • Sunday, August 5th “King of Pop Band: A Tribute to Michael Jackson”

Each concert will feature the new and improved “Kidszone.”  All concerts will begin at 6:00 p.m. and are held at Chumash Park, located at 5550 Medea Valley Dr. in Agoura Hills.  Concerts are free to the public.

Mark your calendars once again for the FREE Janss Marketplace Summer Concert Series from June 20 through August 29. Janss Marketplace is located at Moorpark Road & Hillcrest Drive in Thousand Oaks. Bring your folding chairs and arrive early to enjoy special dinner menus, special merchant samples and the chance to win prizes during the concerts. The music is from 5pm to 9pm.

This awesome 11 week series features music ranging from Top Tribute bands, R&B, Reggae, Classic Rock to 70’s dance favorites. The series includes several tribute concerts to legendary musicians including The Doors, Eagles, Rolling Stones, The Beatles and U2. Janss Marketplace Wednesday Summer Concert Series:

Ojai Concert Series - Celtic, Folk and Roots Music!

The Ojai Concert Series is dedicated to bringing high quality live Celtic, Folk and Roots musicians to beautiful Ojai. Please join us, and help support community culture and the continuation of heart-felt live performances! Concerts take place at the Ojai Valley Woman's Club at 441 E. Ojai Avenue, Ojai (unless otherwise noted)

The Ojai Concert Series is excited to kick off the season with a new summer series of shows at Dancing Oak Ranch. We invite you to join us in a beautiful park like setting at a private home in the hills near Lake Casitas. We have a large beautiful stage (that doubles as a gazebo the rest of the year) under the oaks in a lovely quiet canyon off HWY 150 (half way between Carpinteria and Ojai). The seating area is a large grassy gentle slope, so bring deck chairs and a blanket (we will also have chairs if needed).
