16th Annual Pooch Parade Dog Walk & Pet Expo in Ventura on Sunday, July 21st

The Pooch Parade is a celebration of love for all dogs. The walk is a beautiful three mile round trip along the Ventura Beach Promenade, and yes, the dogs are walking their people in long lines of smiles.

The walk is a fundraiser to support dog rescue, rehabilitation, adoption, and dog owner education programs undertaken by the Canine Adoption and Rescue League (C.A.R.L.). As a Walk-a-thon, walkers gather donations by obtaining sponsors to underwrite their three mile dogwalk in the Pooch Parade.

The event is held at San Buenaventura State Beach Park in Ventura on July 21st from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.. The event will also feature a silent auction, contests, demos and vendors. For more information, visit www.poochparade.org.

9th Annual Dog-Gone Cat-a-Strophic Hugs, Slurps & Slobbers Adoptathon in Camarillo on Sunday, July 28th

9TH ANNUAL DOG-GONE CAT-A-STROPHIC HUGS, SLURPS & SLOBBERS ADOPTATHON

Ventura County Camarillo Animal Shelter and Rescue Me Inc. are dedicated to finding homes for EVERY ONE of the shelter’s homeless at the 9th Annual Dog-Gone Cat-a-Strophic HUGS, SLURPS and SLOBBERS event on Sunday, July 28th from 9-4 at the Camarillo Animal Shelter located at 600 Aviation Drive, Camarillo.

Adopters will receive a FREE gift bag and vet visit; REDUCED rate adoption fee, microchip and rabies vaccine; license, and convenient one-stop shopping for the new family member! Whether or not you plan to adopt, please come out and support the event by participating in the silent auction, enjoy live music, meet celebs and shop vendors.

 

Drop off cartridges and cellphones for recycling with Rescue Me Inc. as well as your old jeans. Have any pet beds, blankets, towels, sheets, or pillow cases? Please leave them with the shelter as the furbabies could use some comfort while they are awaiting adoption.
