Student Art Show in Agoura Hills on Sunday, June 3rd

Cast Your Vote for Best Artist! Student Art Show Sunday June 3 Art is Our Passion in Agoura Hills is proud to showcase the talents of their fine art students, ages 5 to 65 on Sunday, June 3, 2012 from noon until 3 p.m. Experience well over 160 artworks in acrylics, oils, charcoal, pastels and watercolors. Attendees are encouraged to vote by public ballot for their favorite piece in each age classification.  Face painting will be offered for the kids and refreshments for all. The public is invited to the free artist’s reception and show opening and encouraged to take part in voting to determine the best artists in 32 categories. City of Agoura Free Summer Movies in the Park in June, July and August

The City of Agoura Hills is offering up two free movies in the park this summer at Reyes Adobe Park, 5464 Reyes Adobe Road.

Come spend an evening at the Adobe! Bring your own picnic basket with drinks, plus chairs or blankets to sit on.

Entertainment for adults and children will be provided. The Historic Reyes Adobe will be open to the publicfor tours.

City of Agoura Hills 2012 Summer Concerts in the Park - June to August

The City of Agoura Hills Department of Community Services is proud to announce the lineup for the 2012 Summer Concerts in the Park series.

The lineup for this year’s concert series is as follows:

• Sunday, June 17^th  “Queen Nation: A Tribute to Queen”
• Sunday, July 8^th  “Platinum Groove” with fireworks show following concert at about 8:45 p.m
• Sunday, July 22^nd  “Wanted: A Tribute to Bon Jovi”
• Sunday, August 5^th “King of Pop Band: A Tribute to Michael Jackson”

Each concert will feature the new and improved “Kidszone.”  All concerts will begin at 6:00 p.m. and are held at Chumash Park, located at 5550 Medea Valley Dr. in Agoura Hills.  Concerts are free to the public.

Childrens' Activities at the Reyes Adobe in Agoura on the 2nd Saturday of Each Month

The City of Agoura Hills Department of Community Services Program is offering hands-on children activities and public tours at the Reyes Adobe Historical Site.  Docent-led tours of the Reyes Adobe, barn and museum will be available on the second and fourth Saturdays from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m.  Children activities are offered on the 2nd Saturday from 1:30 - 3:00 p.m and are free.

Public, educational and group programs are available throughout the year and offer a variety of ways to discover our region’s unique legacy through guided tours, interactive exhibits and special events.  Suggested donations for the tour are: Adults $3.00, Seniors $2.00, Children 5-12 $1.00, and children under 5 free.

Agoura 10 Miler and RAD 10K on Saturday, October 6th

The Agoura 10 Miler and RAD 10K will take place on Saturday, October 6th. The 10K is a point-to-point course starting on the north end of Reyes Adobe Road, passing the 160-year-old historical Reyes Adobe, running along the El Camino Real, and finishing on a Western movie set in Western Town at Paramount Ranch. The race starts at about 1050 feet and finishes at about 650 feet. The new 10 Miler course will be announced at a later date.

Park near the start. After you finish, shuttles will take you from Paramount Ranch back to Reyes Adobe Park where you can walk through the race expo, have a Maddy's Market Pancake Breakfast and stick around to watch the Reyes Adobe Days Parade. The 10 miler starts at 7:30am and the 10K starts at 8:15am. There's also a beer garden after the race! Nice!
