The 10th Annual Channel Islands 4th of July 5K & 10K benefits the Channel Islands Harbor Foundation. This classic run takes place in the Channel Islands Harbor and Oxnard Shores beach community and is flat and fast. Starting line is on west side of Channel Islands Harbor, just north of the Whales Tail Restaurant, 3950 Bluefin Circle, Oxnard. 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular at Camarillo High School

The Camarillo-Somis Pleasant Valley Lions Club once again is hosting the 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular at Camarillo High School, 4660 Mission Oaks Boulevard, at 4 p.m., with fireworks starting at 9 p.m. Admission is $2 and free for kids 5 and under. Proceeds benefit local charities.

3rd Annual Independence Day 5K/10K at Miller Family YMCA in Newbury Park

The Miller Family YMCA in Newbury Park is hosting its 3rd Annual Independence Day 5K, Classic Car Show and Community Parade on July 4th! This is a family friendly event with a course that rolls through the beautiful community of Dos Vientos Ranch. 5K/10K starts at 7:30am and pancakes start cooking at 7am. City of Calabasas 4th of July Fireworks, Fun Runs, Splash Party and Pet Show

The City of Calabasas will proudly host the community’s annual 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular at Calabasas High School on Thursday, July 4, 2012. Gates open at 5:00p.m. and the fireworks show begins at 9:00p.m. The family-oriented, fun-filled event will feature live music featuring Platinum Groove, a family fun zone and the grand fireworks display!

Tickets must be purchased in advance and are availble at City Hall (100 Civic Center Way) starting June 3rd and at the Calabasas Tennis & Swim Center (23400 Park Sorrento) and Juan Bautista De Anza Park (3701 Lost Hills Road) until July 4. The $10 admission price includes parking, entertainment and all activities.  Children under 2 years of age are admitted free! Handicap parking and a Shuttle for elderly & disabled (plus one attendant) will be available.  Delicious food and beverages will be offered for sale at the site.  Please note that the Fireworks Spectacular is an alcohol and tobacco free zone. No bottles, pets or umbrellas are permitted.

The City of Moorpark presents its 3rd of July Fireworks Extravaganza on Wednesday, July 3rd (yes...the day before the 4th) at Arroyo Vista Park, 4550 Tierra Rejada Road, Moorpark. Ventura 4th of July Street Fair and 38th Annual Children's Pushem-Pullem Parade

The popular City of Ventura 4th of July Street Fair on Thursday, July 4, 2013, extends along Main Street from Fir Street to Ventura Avenue as well as side streets Chestnut, Oak and California interspersed with six stages of entertainment and free shuttle bus service from the Ventura County Government Center to the Street Fair. This year's event theme is "Ventura City Hall Centennial 1913-2013"

The event covers seven blocks of Main Street and several side streets filled with over 200 fine artists, crafters, nonprofit organizations and food booths. The Street Fair has three stages of continuous live entertainment. Open 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. The event is free to the public. A free shuttle service to the event from the Ventura County Government Center is available from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Last shuttle leaving the Street Fair is at 5 p.m.

The 38th Annual Children’s Pushem - Pullem Parade at 10:00 a.m. is sponsored by the Ventura East Rotary Club and City of Ventura Community Services Department.  Assemble at Cemetery Park at Main and Crimea Streets at 9:00 a.m.  The parade proceeds down Main Street to Fir Street at 10:30 a.m.

44th Annual Westlake Village 4th of July Parade and Party in the Park

City of Westlake Village’s 44th Annual 4th of July Parade

The 44th annual City of Westlake Village 4th of July Parade will line up at 9:30 AM and process down the decorated 4-block route at 9:45 AM.

Participants are encouraged to decorate their bike, scooter, skateboard, or wagon in patriotic colors and join the City of Westlake Village for this wonderful patriotic celebration! Residents are also welcome to cheer participants on from the side of the parade route.

New this year: a contest for the most patriotic costumed non-motorized vehicle, pet, adult, and child. Please arrive at the former Westlake Medical Center by 9:15 am in order to be entered into the contest. Judging will take place at 9:30 am and winners will be announced at the park following the Flag Retirement Ceremony.

But wait! Before the parade, starting at 8am, Boy Scout Troop #752’s pancake breakfast will take place at the former Westlake Village Medical Center Property at 4415 Lakeview Canyon at 8:00 am. Breakfast tickets are available for $5 per person or $20 per family on the day of the event or by calling Lee Mackay at 805-914-9701.

The event begins at the former Westlake Village Mecdical Center site at the corner of Lakeview Canyon Road and Agoura Road and marches down the 4-block Agoura Road route to Berniece Bennett Park.

Once the parade arrives at the park there will be a U.S. flag retirement ceremony performed by a local Boy Scout Troup, followed by music, inflatables, old-fashioned games and free popsicles and water. The Rotary will be on hand selling hot dogs and snacks, with proceeds benefiting a local charity.

Ice Cream Social & Birthday Celebration at Stagecoach Inn Museum in Newbury Park on Thursday, July 4th

On the 4th of July the Stagecoach Inn Museum will be celebrating not only the birthday of the nation but its own birthday as well. Tradition has it the the original inn was opened on July 4th 1876. The museum was reopened, after the fire that destroyed the old building, on July 4th 1976.

To celebrate, the Inn will be open from 1 to 4pm for tours and an old fashioned ice cream social. To entertain us and to satisfy our sweet tooth we will have barbershop singers Pacific Sound and free ice cream while it lasts. Admission will be free.
