Strathearn Historical Park & Museum is hosting a weekend Civil War events on February 20-21, 2016. The public is invited on Saturday from 10 AM to 4 PM and on Sunday from 10 AM to 3 PM.
Visitors are invited to step back in time to a soldier’s camp in 1862 and experience the sights and sounds as re-enactors show the soldiers’ way of life throughout a typical encampment day with Union, Confederate and civilian re-enactors.
The re-enactors will be actually living the soldiers’ way of life for the entire weekend in a non-battle environment. Both men and women had roles in this important period in our country’s history.
Experience authentic artillery infantry & cavalry demonstrations & visit soldiers plus civilian camps.
A highly regarded Lincoln impersonator will be delivering the “Gettysburg Address."
In addition to encampment activities, at noon each day, all buildings within the park will be open for touring, with docents available for historical information.
Old-Fashioned Barn Dance lessons will also be provided by the Simi Valley Vintage Dance Society in the historic Wood Ranch Barn.
Daily admission: $5 for age 13 & up - $3 ages five to twelve years old. Children 4 & under are free.
