The long-running Bowlful of Blues festival is coming back to Ojai's beautiful Libbey Bowl on Saturday, September 17, 2016. Featuring veteran guitarist-vocalist Arthur Adams and his band, harmonica ace Mitch Kashmar, popular guiutar-harmonica duo Tom Ball & Kenny Sultan, soulful singer Jade Hendrix and her band, and the Calire-Marx Organ Quartet featuring Jimmy Calire on Hammond B-3 organ, John Marx on guitar and Mario Calire on drums. Gates open at 2 p.m. with live music on the lawn by Annieville Blues.

The 23rd Bowlful of Blues is a joint production of non-profit Ojai Mardi Gras Wake-Up! Krewe, Ojai Concert Series, and Ojai's real-life "blues brothers," Michael Kaufer and Lanny Kaufer. Net proceeds will go toward making blues-related musical instruments and music education available to local schools.
