The 14th Annual Celebration of the Whales Festival takes place on Sunday, March 21st from 10am to 5pm on Harbor Boulevard, near the Marine Emporium Landing Channel Islands Harbor Farmers & Fishermen’s Market in conjunction with the Channel Islands Harbor celebrates the migration of the Pacific Grey Whales. This annual celebration is a popular event for both locals and visitors alike. Admission to the festival is free. The harborside event will feature live entertainment, an arts & crafts market, children’s activities, whales and marine education exhibits, BBQ and food booths and a certified Farmers & Fishermen’s Market.

The California Wildlife Center (26026 Piumu Road, Calabasas) presents an afternoon of entertainment, wildlife education and children's activities at its bi-annual open house on Sunday, March 21st from noon to 4 pm.

During a national Turn off the TV Week campaign, the Ventura County Ballet Company will offer families two exciting classic fairytale events to partake in as it hosts a story time featuring ‘Sleeping Beauty’ on April 21 and a princess tea on April 24, both in Ventura.
Story time at Barnes & Noble will feature the classic fairytale book in an abridged version. The Sleeping Beauty’s Princess Tea party will feature crafts, raffles and a small boutique. Guests will be served finger sandwiches, deserts and refreshments in a festive setting. Children will have the opportunity to meet Princess Aurora at the tea and are encouraged to dress in their favorite princess, ballerina or dance costumes at both events.

Coinciding with the 75th anniversary of Walt Disney’s same cinematic tale this year, VCBC will present “Sleeping Beauty - A Fairytale Ballet” May 22-23 at the Oxnard Performing Arts Center. Audiences will enjoy the classic ballet with unique touches and fairytale characters as dancers transport the classic story into a magical world on stage. United Studios of Self Defense (USSD) Kidfest 2010 is an annual FREE family event where children of all ages come together for a fun and unique day. USSD Kidfest will be held on Saturday, March 20th from 11 am to 4 pm at Conejo Creek Park North, 1379 E. Janss Road, Thousand Oaks. Expected activities will include trucks, arts and crafts, dog agility show, sporting games, live music/DJ, train rides, inflatable jumpers, rock wall and more!
This event is geared towards kids of all ages, from toddlers to teenagers. USSD Kidfest also features a community expo with exhibitors and local vendors showcasing their products and services. There will also be a silent auction and raffle. Parking is also free but is limited - but there is plenty of parking across the street at the soccer fields.

What’s better than watching a Ventura roller derby team take on a Visalia roller derby team? TWO amazing bouts for the price of one. Ventura's County Derby Darlins' VenDolls and Battalion of Skates will take on the VTown Derby Dames A and B teams from Visalia.
