The 38th Annual Conejo Valley CROP Hunger Walk takes place on Sunday, March 6th at the Cal Lutheran University Sports Complex in Thousand Oaks. CROP Walks help raise awareness and funds for international relief and development, as well as for for local hunger related charities. More than 35 local clubs, schools, and churches are represented by walkers. Last year, over 400 walkers attended and helped raise nearly $40,000.
The CROP Hunger Walk is a 6 or 4.3 mile distance through the community near CLU as well as a 20 minute campus stroll. Registration is from 12-1:00 PM and the walk begins at 1:00. Formore information, to register online or to donate, visit www.crophungerwalk.org/thousandoaksca.
75% of funds raised go to alleviate hunger and promote sustainable development in the world and 25% of funds promote food security locally, including Conejo Valley Meals on Wheels, Westlake Village Meals on Wheels, Manna – Conejo Food Bank and LSS Community Care Center.
