2nd Annual Bandit 30K/14K Trail Runs in Simi Valley on Saturday, March 13th

Welcome to the 2nd Annual
BANDIT 30/14K Trail Run

 Saturday, March 13, 2010

This year we are also presenting the Bandito Kids Fun Run 1.25 mile loop around Corriganville Park.

The Bandit is a grueling 30K trail run in Simi Valley. The 30K starts at 8 am, the 14K at 8:15 am and the Bandito Fun Run is at 9 am.

The course starts in Corriganville Park (also known as Hope Town was used as a set for over 3,500 films and television series with actors like Roy Rogers, Cisco Kid, Rin-Tin-Tin, Wild Bill Hickock).

Before 2 miles you start the steep single-track switchback climb that links to Rocky Peak Trail. Take a minute to look over your shoulder at the top of this trail - you can see the ocean on a clear day at 2,600 ft above sea level.

From Rocky peak you will travel a rolling fire road trail to Chumash trail 3 miles of single-track downhill ending at 1,200 ft. Here the 14K continues to the top of Rocky Peak and back to the start, while the 30K takes the long way around, down Chumash.

The Chumash-Marr link of the trail marks the half-way point. What goes down must go UP right? Marr Trail is a fire road that gives you a nice gradient uphill for 3 miles.

The windmill marks the "split" in the trail where you will take Browns Canyon Trail (fire road) pretty much straight back up to Rocky Peak (2,600 ft) and return to Corriganville on the same single track you pounded up.

Aid Stations are located at the Start/Finish line, and at the half-way point on the 30K. Aid Stations include medical personnel, water, food, and restrooms.

We require each runner to carry a minimum of 16 ounces of water for the run.
