The annual summertime concert series is back this week with Ted Z and the Wranglers, a group that describes their style as “outlaw country charged rock.” They’ll be joined by special guest Jaime Wyatt.
The free concert is on Sunday, June 12 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Peter Strauss Ranch at 30000 Mulholland Hwy, Agoura Hills.
Concertgoers can also check out Enchanted, a new outdoor art exhibit featuring four site-based art installations by Ben Allanoff, Faith Purvey, and Karen Reitzel. It is curated by Patricia Watts of ecoartspace. The exhibit runs through September 10.
Peter Strauss Ranch is owned and managed by the National Park Service in the Santa Monica Mountains. During the 1940s and '50s, the property was known as Lake Enchanto. Hundreds of people from Los Angeles and beyond would come out to this early form of a theme park to picnic, watch theatre, visit a Fairytale Land, and listen and dance to music, among other activities.
The concert series is presented by Tiny Porch Concerts and more information can be found on their website at www.tinyporchconcerts.com. The three remaining concerts are Sean Watkins on July 10 at 5:00 p.m., Eddie Berman on August 20 at 6:00 p.m., and Tacoma Narrows on September 10 at 6:00 p.m.
In addition to the concerts, Tiny Porch will feature a Mountain Jam Workshop before each main show to allow guests to bring their own instruments and get pointers on “jamming” from local musicians.
