NextGen Gaming is a 2,500 square foot fully stocked gaming facility that has 24 comfortable "Bone Rattler" gaming chairs with 42" TVs, 15 high end computers, 3 multiplayer rooms and a Guitar Hero stage! There are over 200 games, with platforms ranging from Xbox, Wii, PS3, Rock Band, Guitar Hero and DDR2 (Dance Dance Revolution 2). NextGen opened its doors on October 4th, 2008.
There are no membership fees and NextGen is available to all ages, from kids and teens to adults looking for gaming excitement. Just $7.75 per hour, which seems pretty cheap compared to other activities! They also sell day passes, monthly passes and have specials on certain days of the week (check their website for details). They also host plenty of birthday parties there!
The owner of NextGen is really nice and well dialed in to the local community. Having teenagers of her own enables her to know what they like to play! Our own teenager and his friends enjoys NextGen and we feel comfortable with his being there. She also mentioned that special summer "overnighters" were extremely popular...in fact, we visited on 8/22/09 (see video below) and she indicated that the overnighter that night was sold out.
Current hours are noon 'til 7 p.m. Sunday thru Thursday and noon 'til 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. NextGen is located at 1015 Broadbeck Drive, Suite D in Newbury Park NEW LOCATION starting 6/26/10: 1620 Newbury Road, Suite 5 (Stagecoach Plaza, near In-N-Out Burger). Call 805.744.2409 or visit www.thenextgenerationgamingplace.com for more information.
