Gull Wings Children's Museum - Oxnard

Gull Wings Children's MuseumFun, hands on, interactive and education museum for kids ages 2 through 12.  Gull Wings Children's Museum opened in 1988 and has dozens of really fun exhibits for the little ones...like a tidepool, fire engine, emergency room, ambulance, space station, astronaut room, live animals (iguanas, parakeet, etc), mineral/fossil room, campout area, an actual car, toddler area, western area, recording room, reading room and the list goes on!!.  Museum hours vary seasonally.  Make sure you visit their website to confirm hours before attending.  Admission is $6 for adults and $5 for kids/seniors. Kids under 2 are free.  Annual family memberships also available.

The museum is located at 418 W. Fourth Street, Oxnard.  For more information, visit www.gullwings.org or call 805.483.3005.

I stopped by the museum and spoke with its director in June 2010 and posted this brief walkthrough to YouTube below. But then I discovered the museum already had a much nicer video (bottom) featuring John Kelly, exhibit designer for the museum.  They really do a nice job of having a wide variety of interesting things for kids in such a relatively compact space.
