CA Kiddo Club in Agoura Hills

On Monday, December 5, 2011, CA Kiddo Club opened in Agoura Hills. CA Kiddo Club is a 5000 square foot bright, spacious kids’ enrichment center in Agoura Hills for ages 10 and under! It’s safe, clean and fun with our creative Indoor Playground and your kids will love it! Whether it’s a Kid’s Party, one of our Enrichment Classes such as yoga, music and dance, or simply playtime during the week, our fantastic staff at CA Kiddo Club will make a memorable experience for your child.

We also have a Homework Club for 1st to 5th graders, Drop-off nights, Day Camps and more! Also equipped with Xbox Motion.

CA Kiddo Club is open for free play from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm. (Except Class Days: from Jan 19, 2012 Thursdays we’ll be closed at 3 pm for free play!) Admission Fees : $10.00 for first 4 hours (as of February 2012). Free Wifi is available for customers.

Ventura County NFL Flag Football is a premier youth football league for boys and girls ages 6-17. The program provides young players a fun and exciting opportunity to engage in a non-contact, continuous action action sport while learning lessons in teamwork. NFL Flag is a 7 on 7 player league with 4 divisions: ages 6-8 Pee Wee, ages 9-11 Bantam, ages 12-14 Junior and ages 15-17 Senior. AFC locations in Agoura, Moorpark, Newbury Park, Thousand Oaks, Westlake and Simi Valley, NFC locations in Camarillo, Fillmore, Ojai, Oxnard, Santa Paula and Ventura. Season starts in March.

i9 Sports runs a recreational youth flag football league that covers Simi Valley, Thousand Oaks, Agoura and Woodland Hills. i9 is committed to safety, organization and sportsmanship with the highest degree of customer service and professionalism. Here is information from the i9 website at www.i9sports.com:

i9 Sports Flag Football is non-contact continuous action, using minimal equipment. The games emphasize basic football skills of passing, catching, defending, and running. In i9 Flag, participants also learn about formations, pass patterns, and different types of defense.

This five-on-five game is designed by the NFL for youth players. The offensive team plays for a first down at midfield and a touchdown in the end zone. Running and passing plays are allowed, although there are no-running zones at midfield and near each goal line. The defensive team covers receivers, rushes the passer, and grabs flags to make stops.

I9 SPORTS FLAG FOOTBALL IS NON-CONTACT; BLOCKING AND TACKLING IS NOT ALLOWED. This league is great for beginners to experienced players! Signups for the spring season begin in January and the season starts in April. Format is 5 on 5 and everyone plays (generally 8 to 10 players per team). Ages range from 5-6 to 13-14. Players assigned to teams based on age, height and weight. No drafts/tryouts!

Since 1970, the Conejo Youth Flag Football Association has been committed to coaching all participants in the fundamentals of competitive football in a safe, instructional and positive environment. We believe that every player should be able to learn the game and have fun!

For kids ages 6 to 17. Scrim division for ages 6 to 7, Bantam division for 8 to 9 1/2, Junior division for 9 1/2 to 10, Senior division for 11 to 13 and recently formed teenage passing division for ages 14 to 17. Signups in April. More information at www.cyffa.com.

Free Airplane Rides for Kids in Camarillo and Santa Paula

Each month, Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Chapter 723 offers free flights to youth, our Young Eagles ages 8 through 17, weather permitting. Reservations for the flights can be made by phone with the Young Eagle coordinator, Neal Fowler. He takes reservations the week preceding the first Saturday of the month. Neal can be reached at 805-647-6994.

In Camarillo, flights take place from the EAA Hangar Area at 501 Aviation Drive just off Aviation Way at Camarillo Airport on the first Saturday of the month. Look for signs; it is next to Commemorative Air Force, CAF Museum, and near the Animal Shelter. Please park on the street, Aviation Way. DO NOT PARK in the CAF Parking Lot.

In Santa Paula, flights are from Santa Paula Airport and take place on the first Sunday of each month. Look for signs.

The Sagebrush Cantina Kids Club is every Tuesday evening, hosting a line-up of family fun that includes free performances and activities geared toward kids ages 12 and under. Summer Kids Club is held on the cantina’s secure and spacious outdoor side patio where kids can enjoy free activities such asface painting, tattoo art, balloon making, gymnastics and disco dancing in an enclosed area while parents relax, dine and socialize. Each week a featured entertainment act is presented onstage for the entire family to enjoy.

The Kid’s Club family night menu offers many new cantina selections including vegan and vegetarian selections. All Tuesday night the cantina offers families a Kids-Eat-Free special, one free child’s meal with every adult entrée ordered or a $5 kid’s special meal with drink may be purchased for 10 and under. Kid’s Club runs from 4:30 – 7:30 pm with gym and special activities from 4:00 - 6:00, followed by a featured show from 6:00 - 6.30 and a kids disco 7:00 - 7.30pm. Birthday parties are welcome.

The Camarillo Art Center is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization which promotes interest in a broad range of visual art forms. The CAC maintains an art gallery for local artists and art students to present their work to the public. CAC also develops various programs, sponsors classes and houses an art library to foster art education.

Sky High Sports - The Trampoline Place in Camarillo

Sky High Sports - The Trampoline Place, opened at 166 Aviador Street, Camarillo in October 2010. It is less than a mile west of the Target/Home Depot center. Located in a huge, 42,000 sq ft facility, there are half a dozen areas that have trampolines on the floors and walls. This is a one of a kind place in Ventura County.

In addition to coming in to jump around, you can play dodgeball, there is a kids under 10 area with its own 2 trampoline courts and several bouncers, an arcade and more.

This quickly became one of the most popular indoor fun places in the county! Lots of birthday parties going on at this place!

Some other observations:

Rusty's Pizza was catering the birthday parties.
There is a huge projection TV on the wall.
Free Wifi in the building and there was a separate "sanity" room for adults with a number of TVs.
Sky High is open 7 days a week and walk-ins are always welcome.
My 5 year old was thanking me afterwards for bringing him here. He LOVED it.
