Wagon Wheel Bowl in Oxnard

Wagon Wheel Bowl at 2801 Wagon Wheel Road in Oxnard (805.485.4915) is a 32 lane bowling alley originally built in 1953.  The 64 acre property that the bowling alley is located on was sold and will likely be redeveloped into condos, office buildings and the like, and the adjacent Wagon Wheel Restaurant and Motel were closed several years ago, but the Wagon Wheel Bowl is still going strong!

This may not be the fanciest or nicest bowling around, but it is one of just a handful of bowling alleys still in operation and it may well be recognized as a historical landmark because of its history and the fact that it is a living example of mid 20th century roadside architecture.  You can't miss it driving south on the 101 while driving through Oxnard.

In the meantime, this piece of local history is still open and running and, according to the employee I spoke with on the phone, they expect the place to be open another 5 years or so.  We shall see!  So check out this historical landmark, have a beer, burger and bowl away!

It is sad that Conejo Bowl closed. We need another bowling alley. I used to go there and bowl. Now there is not one in the Conejo Valley. Why should we go to Simi Valley, Camarillo, Ventura & etc? So we can create revenue to our city?

There is Vacant building on Hampshire Rd Former Kmart building. Also, area next to Walgreen Drug store there is nothing there.
