Conejo Group Sierra Club Upcoming Hikes

The Los Padres Sierra Club serves California's Santa Barbara and Ventura counties. The Club encompasses everything from National Forest Wilderness areas of the San Ynez Mountains to the Channel Islands National Park in the Santa Barbara Channel.  Our issues range from traditional Sierra Club concerns with forest management and wilderness to the urban and growing problems with land use and energy development.  Following are the major issues we are struggling with:

Scheduled Group Outings in the Conejo Open Space

Outings in the Conejo Open Space are offered by various organizations and hike leaders including (but not limited to) the Conejo Recreation and Park District, the Conejo Group Sierra Club, and the Outdoors Club. None of the outings are offered by the Conejo Open Space Foundation; however, they maintain a calendar of upcoming hikes at www.cosf.org/website/html/outings.html. Try it out! It's fun!

Rancho Simi Trailblazers

The Rancho Simi Trail Blazers is a volunteer organization of outdoor enthusiasts consisting of bikers, equestrians, hikers, and naturalists. We are totally committed to the care and protection of our natural environment for the enjoyment of all.

Regularly scheduled activities include:

• Tuesday evening beginners' hike
• Thursday evening hike
• Saturday morning hike
• Sunday evening hike
• Trail Maintenance usually every 3rd Saturday of the month
• Monthly meeting every 3rd Wednesday of the month
• Monthly newsletter sent to all members, which includes our scheduled activities

Thousand Oaks Hikers Meetup Group

Here's another group of local hiking enthusiasts. The Thousand Oaks Hikers Meetup Group was formed in November 2006 and has nearly 1,300 members. There are no memberships dues but a nominal $1 donation is asked for at organized hikes. Several hundred hikes have been organized throughout the area, not just Ventura County trails. The Weekday Hikers
