Rock Steady Boxing Program for Parkinson's Patients in Thousand Oaks

Rock Steady Boxing Thousand Oaks is a specialized fitness program dedicated to helping people living with Parkinson's disease improve strength, mobility, balance, and confidence through a non-contact boxing-based exercise system. The program is designed to support individuals at all stages of Parkinson's and provides a safe, structured, and encouraging environment where participants can train at their own pace.

Unlike traditional fitness programs, Rock Steady Boxing Thousand Oaks focuses specifically on neurological fitness, using boxing-inspired movements to help challenge both the body and the brain. Classes are adaptable for all ability levels, making it accessible for newly diagnosed individuals as well as those with more advanced symptoms.

The goal of Rock Steady Boxing Thousand Oaks is to help participants feel stronger, move better, and maintain independence in their daily lives while building a supportive community of individuals facing similar challenges.

Rock Steady Boxing Thousand Oaks is also designed with families and caregivers in mind, offering comfortable space for them to stay, observe, and support their loved ones during training sessions. The facility includes three bathrooms for convenience, 40 punching bags for training, and a professional boxing ring that sets the tone for classes and creates an authentic, motivating training environment.

Free introductory classes are available for those interested in experiencing the program firsthand. Families, caregivers, and healthcare providers are encouraged to learn more about how structured exercise can complement traditional Parkinson's care and improve overall quality of life.

Located at 1714 Newbury Rd., Thousand Oaks, Rock Steady Boxing Thousand Oaks continues to grow as a trusted resource in the local Parkinson's community, offering hope and measurable improvements through movement-based therapy.

Rabbit Flats Disc Golf Course in Thousand Oaks

RabbitFlats_logo.jpg

In 1969, George Sappenfield, Recreation Supervisor for Conejo Recreation and Park District, introduced a new game by conducting the first official Disc Golf Tournament. He contacted Wham-O Manufacturing and asked for help with the event. Wham-O supplied frisbees for throwing and hula hoops for use as targets. And with so Disc Golf was born right here in the Conejo Valley! Since then, Disc Golf has exploded with its own professional organization of nearly 40,000 members, tournaments worldwide, and courses across the world.
