McGrath Family Farm in Camarillo

McGrath Family Farm at 505 North Wood Road, Camarillo (take the Central Avenue offramp from the 101...McGrath is just south of the freeway) has been around for 5 generations and the deepest topsoil and the best climate produces an utopian garden farm. McGrath is a sustainable farm that grows a high diversity of year-round organic fruits and vegetables for our community. Flowers too!
In March 2008 McGrath opened its Farm Center which includes a seven day per week farmers market, restaurant deliveries throughout Southern California, a Community Supported Agriculture prgram and much more. In the future they hope to offer self guided farm trails, special events, such as a corn maze, pumpkin patch, scare- crow contest, flower wreath arrangements in the spring and summer festivities.
Visit McGrath for farm tours! Current cost is $7 per person with a minimum group size of 20 (or minimum group cost of $140). Average time is an hour. Maximum size is 70 to 80. Spring is the optimal time for tours and Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays are the best days at the farm.
We visited the farm organic produce store on 6/27/09. Nice little place to visit and buy farm fresh, organic veggies, fruits and flowers. For $3 they offer up 10 minute visits with the farm animals...goats, ducks, pigeons and a friendly rabbit. A very low key place to spend an hour with the kids. There are no rides and amusements at McGrath, like at Underwood Farms in Moorpark.
