Make your own cookies at Kookie Krazy and they will bake them and clean up the mess! They have dozens of different cookie ingredients that you get to create your own delicious treats with! This place just opened and is open 7 days per week except holidays.
An update. We visited Kookie Krazy last night. It is located next to Simply Ceramics and is adjacent to the Gold's Gym. I had boys ages 2 and 5 with me. They entertained themselves at the "bending" mirror and watched themselves on the TV monitor as I learned the routine.
It is a 5 step process. First, choose your fresh cookie dough. Flavors included traditional sugar, chocolate, vanilla, expresso, oatmeal and few others. Next, choose up to 3 cookie items to add to your cookie. Very much like a Cold Stone Creamery. There were several dozen choices and both kids gravitated towards the Rolos, M&Ms and white chocolate chips. They also had healthier items like raisins and nuts. The third step is making the cookie. They give you a pie tin with the cookie ingredients and you can mix them up and form your own cookies (or one large cookie if you are so inclined). So, assuming you have self control and don't start consuming the uncooked cookie dough out of the tin, you can get your hands messy and make your own cookies.
But my kids wanted nothing to do with making the cookies. They were more interested in running around the store, checking out the arcade games in the adjoining room, which also had tables and a Willy Wonka movie playing, and making loud noises. No biggie. The employees were EXTREMELY friendly and helpful and were more than happy to shape the cookies on our behalf. The gals working there took an active interest in educating my little guys on the art of cookie making. Somewhat futile but fun to watch.
The fourth step is waiting 15 minutes for the cookies to bake. They give you a timer. No instant gratification here (I take that back...I'm pretty sure I saw some cookies for sale that did not require baking). The fifth step is decorating your cookies with sprinkles, gummy bears and the like. We missed this step as the kids were too focused on that first bite. The cookies were delicious. Not exactly cheap at $5 per person (which rendered 3 decent sized cookies apiece), but I thought it was quite fair given the "experience" and the ability to literally create your own unique cookie without having to worry about buying the ingredients and, my personal least favorite activity....CLEANING!
Now that we know the routine, no doubt we will be back. Next time we shall be prepared to get our hands dirty. I suspect this will be a very popular kids' birthday joint very very soon.
