Janss Marketplace in Thousand Oaks

Janss Marketplace in Thousand OaksThe Janss Marketplace at 275 North Moorpark Road in Thousand Oaks (corner of Moorpark Road and Hillcrest) is a nice alternative to The Oaks mall.  This is an open air mall that was upgraded a few years ago to include a large outdoor eating area, interactive water fountain, monthly Kids Fun Zone and an outdoor kids play area and a large parking structure.

There is an interesting variety of businesses in this mall, including Gold's Gym, Mann Movie Theaters, Toys R Us and various restaurants.  There's also Sears, Old Navy, Marshall's, Burlington Coat Factory and Riverland Clothing.  Akio's Sushi is one of the longest-operating sushi bars in town and is a local favorite.

There's also Buca di Beppo, a huge, popular Bandit's BBQ adjacent to the mall, Panera Bread which has wonderful sandwiches on freshly baked breads, TGI Friday's and an adjacent El Torito. Karma Indian Cuisine recently (early 2011) opened its doors. Other restaurants include Burger King, Greco's New York Pizzeria, L&L Hawaiian BBQ, Lucky's Dog House, Qdoba Mexican Grill (opened in July 2011), Subway, Sunset Terrace Restaurant as well as a Cold Stone Creamery.

There's also an interactive fountain, music and light show that operates a number of times each day (call for show times).

For more information visit www.janssmarketplace.net or call 805.495.4662.

In Summer 2009 the Janss Marketplace added a NEOS Wall, a fun interactive game right outside the Golds Gym.  This game is free.

There is alot to do at Janss Marketplace. You forgot one place that is alot of fun. "Simply Ceramics". It is right across from Gold's Gym. It is great for kids and not so young kids! Alot of room. Tables to seat as few as 2 up to the big table in the party room. The staff is very pleasant and helpful. You don't feel rushed. A place to sit and relax, paint your ceramic pieces.
